Description
The Kusakabe Clan (日下部氏) is a Japanese clan recorded in the classical genealogical sources of Japan. In the Shinsen Shōjiroku (815 CE) and related lineage chronicles, the clan is classified as divine-descent (Shinbetsu). The lineage is traditionally associated with Yamato (modern Nara Prefecture) and Harima (modern southwestern Hyōgo) during the ancient period. Lineage records appear in classical chronicles, shrine genealogies, and provincial gazetteers. See the Japanese-language page for the full lineage record, member registry, and citation list.
