Description
Okaguyamatoomi-no-Kami (大香山戸臣神, also read Okaguyamatoomi-no-Kami) is an earthly deity recorded in the Kojiki (712 CE). He is named in the lineage as a child of Otoshi-no-Kami and Kayohime. The name element "Kaguyamato" includes a place-name element connecting to Mount Kaguyama in Yamato (Amenokaguyama), and "Omi" is a term for a deity of weight or importance. Father is Otoshi-no-Kami; mother is Kayohime. A sibling is Mitoshi-no-Kami, and both deities are recorded together as the children of Kayohime. Otoshi-no-Kami also fathered ten deities with Amechikarumizuhime (Okutsuhiko, Okutsuhime, Oyamakui, Niwatsuhi, Niwatakatsuhi, Otsuchi, Asuha, Hahiki, Kayamatoomi, and Hayamato), and five with Inohime (Okunimitama, Karano-kami, Sohori, Shirahi, and Hijiri), forming a broad lineage to which this deity belongs.
