Yomotsu-Kami

Yomotsu-Kami is a deity name registered in the Kokugakuin University Classical Cultures Project Shinmei Database. According to the database, the name is cited from the Kojiki (712 CE), upper scroll, in the passage on the Land of Yomi. The synopsis treats the term as a general designation of deities of the underworld appearing in that scene. Because the term functions partly as a collective noun and partly as a specific reference depending on the manuscript reading, IZANORA preserves the citation as recorded and adds relations to the Yomi passage and to Izanami-no-Mikoto without prejudging the interpretation.
