According to the database, the deity is cited from the Kojiki (712 CE), upper scroll, in the passage on the Heavenly Descent (Tenson-korin). The figure is recorded as the consort of Ame-no-Oshihomimi-no-Mikoto and mother of Ninigi-no-Mikoto, placing her in the direct genealogy leading to the descent of the imperial ancestor to the earthly realm.
