In 30 seconds
A regional fox-yokai usage from Toyota, Aichi, recorded in Nagoya Minzoku (1979).
Description
Inari (here recorded as a regional fox-cult yokai usage, distinct from Inari Okami of the shrine tradition) is registered in the Nichibunken (International Research Center for Japanese Studies) Strange Phenomena and Yokai Folklore Database. The region field records Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. The source card cites Ito Ryokichi, "Shiryo Tsushin," in Nagoya Minzoku (1979). In IZANORA the entry is preserved as a regional folklore record only, and relations are drawn from the cited source and region without conflating it with the major Inari shrine cult.
