The Kamo Clan (賀茂氏) is a Japanese clan recorded in the classical genealogical sources of Japan. In the Shinsen Shōjiroku (815 CE) and related lineage chronicles, the clan is classified as divine-descent (Shinbetsu). The lineage is traditionally associated with Yamashiro (modern southern Kyoto Prefecture). Lineage records appear in classical chronicles, shrine genealogies, and provincial gazetteers.
