Description
The Tachibana Clan (橘氏) is a Japanese clan recorded in the classical genealogical sources of Japan. In the Shinsen Shōjiroku (815 CE) and related lineage chronicles, the clan is classified as imperial-descent (Kōbetsu). The lineage is traditionally associated with Yamato (modern Nara Prefecture) and Yamashiro (modern southern Kyoto Prefecture). Lineage records appear in classical chronicles, shrine genealogies, and provincial gazetteers. See the Japanese-language page for the full lineage record, member registry, and citation list.
