Description
Fuwanomojikunusunu-no-Kami is recorded in Kojiki (712 CE) Upper Volume in the Okuninushi genealogical chain. After the slaying of the Yamata-no-Orochi and the building of the Suga palace, Kojiki gives the chain: "Yashimajinumi-no-Kami took to wife Konohanachiruhime, the daughter of Oyamatsumi-no-Kami, and bore Fuwanomojikunusunu-no-Kami." He stands as the second generation of the Izumo line that runs from Yashimajinumi-no-Kami to Okuninushi-no-Kami. His father is Yashimajinumi-no-Kami, son of Susanoo and Kushinadahime, and his mother is Konohanachiruhime, daughter of Oyamatsumi-no-Kami. His consort is Hikawa-Hime, daughter of Okami-no-Kami, and his child is Fukafuchi-no-Mizuyarehana-no-Kami. He supports the seven-generation lineage that links Susanoo to Okuninushi. He is recognised among the ancestors in the genealogical structure at Izumo Taisha and at Sada Jinja, the second shrine of Izumo Province.
